Assistant Hotel Front Office Manager


Job Description:
The Assistant Front Office Manager is responsible for coordinating front office activities of the Warehouse Hotel and resolve problems arising from guests' complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests and inquiries by performing the following essential duties personally or with the assistance of the Warehouse Hotel front office team.
Essential Job Functions:
o Assign duties and shifts to workers and observe performances to ensure adherence to hotel policies and established operating procedures
o Responsible for proper group set-up, coordination, comps, proper billing, etc.
o Confers and cooperates with other department heads to ensure coordination of activities
o Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services
o Responsible for inventory of all Front Office operating materials
o Prepare and modify schedule for all Front Office Team Members
o Handle customer complaints over telephone and in writing
o Assist Front Office Manager with various tasks during their absence
o Arrange for special services when needed
o Coordinate with team mentors for the training of all Front Office Team members' updates and maintain the mentoring program
o Greet important guests
o Cover shifts in the event of call offs and schedule requests
o Patrol public restrooms, investigate disturbances, and warn troublemakers
o Participate in performance reviews a performance management of team members
o Follow established company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance and consistency with all Team members and guests
o All other duties as assigned
Basic
Qualifications:
o Must be 18 years of age or older
o Bachelor's degree in related field
o Must have dependable transportation to and from work
o Ability to read, speak and understand the English language
o 1-2 year(s) in a hotel front office role
o Previous supervisory experience in guest focused department
Preferred

o A positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees
o Experience communicating with people of diverse demographics
o Must be extremely detailed with outstanding communication skills
o Capability to multi-task multiple projects/duties at once
o Strong computer skills with previous experience using hotel front office software
o Ability to follow directions both written and verbally
o Integrity to safeguard confidential information
o Demeanor to remain calm in tense or stressful situations
o Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions:
o Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
o Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, reaching, and typing on a computer for long periods of time
o Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasion
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
