Public Space Attendant
Job Description:
Responsible for the cleanliness of the public areas of the hotel.
Essential Job Functions:
o Responsible for the cleaning of corridors, guest areas, service areas and linen closets.
o Empty trash and dirty linen from the housekeeper's carts
o Carry trash to the dumpster
o Vacuum corridors, public spaces, and/or other areas as assigned
o Sweep and mop all landing area and all tile area
o Clean the exterior of all ice machines and vending machines
o Clean the guest laundry areas
o Check all public restrooms for cleanliness several times daily
o Deliver cribs to guestrooms as requested
o Stock supplies needed for linen closets
o Assist any guests that require assistance with luggage
o Clean guest rooms as assigned
o Maintain hotel entrance
o Check parking lot several times daily for debris and outside trash cans that need to be emptied
o Assist in the unloading and/or deliveries as well as proper storage
o All other assigned duties
Basic
Qualifications:
o Must be 18 years of age or older
o High School diploma or equivalent
o Must have dependable transportation to and from work
o Ability to read, speak and understand the English language
o At least one year of experience in a housekeeping or laundry role
Preferred

o A positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
o Capacity to work as a member of a team or an individual
o Experience communicating with people of diverse demographics
o Must be extremely detailed with outstanding communication skills
o Capability to multi-task multiple projects/duties at once
o Ability to follow directions both written and verbally
o Integrity to safeguard confidential information
o Demeanor to remain calm in tense or stressful situations
o Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Working Conditions:
o Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
o Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, reaching, and typing on a computer for long periods of time
o Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasion
o Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 poundsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
