Job Description:
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in all restaurant operations, specifically in the areas of scheduling, reservations, training, and employee communication. The Restaurant Supervisor is also responsible for guaranteeing an outstanding dining experience.
Essential Job Functions:
o Hiring, Training, Scheduling, Praising, and Discipline of all restaurant staff
o Work closely with Hotel/SNS management to meet guest needs during heavy operational periods
o Day to day operation management of all functional areas of the restaurant
o Ensure restaurant is ready for opening each night and all set-up for special events is completed on time
o Complete orders for restaurant supplies
o Communicate staffing needs to appropriate outlets to guarantee consistent operation
o Recognize and encourage exceptional customer service provided by restaurant staff
o Expedite orders as needed
o Interact with guests tableside during meal service
o Respond to any guest complaints or service mistakes
o Possess expert knowledge of all menu items and specials, including food allergies of each menu item
o Gather feedback from guests to affirm or improve food and service quality
o Develop and implement SOPs for all restaurant departments
o Maintain and record food safety training completions such as ServSafe, RAMP, and TIPS
o Ensure compliance with all local/state/federal restaurant operational standards and prepare for, practice, execute, and remedy any/all health and safety inspections
o Become point of contact for all State of PA liquor laws and how they apply to the operation
o Assist with event requirements as needed
o All other duties as assigned
Basic
Qualifications:
o Must be 21 years of age or older
o Must have valid Driver's License
o Must have dependable transportation to and from work
o Minimum 3 years' experience in the restaurant industry
o Minimum 1 year of experience working within a restaurant/bar that serves alcohol
o At least 2 years of supervisory experience
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Previous experience working at a restaurant within a hotel
o 2 year degree from Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management program
o Experience working with a start-up operation
o A positive and friendly attitude towards guest, customers, and fellow employees
o Ability to safeguard confidential information
o Must be extremely detailed with outstanding communication skills
o Ability to work with minimal supervision
o Capability to multi-task and manage planning of multiple events at once
o Previous experience working with BEO's
o Outstanding demonstration in meeting strict deadlines
o Ability to remain calm in tense or stressful situations
Working Conditions:
o Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting.
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently.
o Required to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays
o Must be able to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment for a long period of timeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
