Tree Climber

Most days youâ ll be helping our clients - both commercial and residential - maintain and beautify their trees, landscape, and lawns. Tree Climbers work on our General Tree Care (GTC) operations team. GTC tree climbers help prune and remove trees and shrubs. Tree Climbers must have completed or demonstrated the ability to complete the TCIA Ground Operations Specialist and TCIA Tree Climber Apprentice test and certifications.
Tree Climber Responsibilities
  • All responsibilities associated with Ground Operations Specialist and Tree Climber Apprentice
  • Extensive knowledge and proper use of safe and various tree climbing techniques
  • Safely and consistently perform all types of small and large tree care pruning as requested by Crew Leader
  • Safely and consistently perform simple and technical tree removals using conventional rigging techniques as requested by Crew Leader
  • Safely and consistently perform simple and technical crane tree removals as requested by Crew Leader
  • Ensure all tools and personal belongings are removed from each job site and properly stowed on trucks and trailers upon job completion
  • Daily removal and disposal of all personal and/or crew generated trash from all vehicles, equipment and trailers
  • Show up consistently on time and be ready to work immediately upon arrival
  • Strict adherence to all company safety protocols
  • Consistent and proper use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed
  • Clearly and respectfully communicate with all crew members and clients
  • Safely and courteously drive company vehicles as qualified obeying all traffic laws
  • Complete and maintain annual EHAP (Electrical Hazardous Awareness Program) training
  • Immediately report all equipment and/or property damages to supervisor
  • Maintain a composed, respectful and positive attitude toward all fellow employees, clients and working situations at all times

Tree Climber Qualifications:
  • Must love the outdoors and adventure
  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license
  • Must pass a pre-employment substance screening exam
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical exam
  • Must pass a company administered basic driving test
  • Must complete or clearly demonstrate through ability and/or experience the TCIA Ground Operations Specialist and TCIA Tree Climber Apprentice test and certifications
  • Must be willing and able to work in all outdoor weather conditions all year round
  • Must be willing and able to work 40 hours or more per week when requested
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays when requested

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
