Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Machinist Team's responsibilities include, assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, communicating directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Summary:

A candidate should be able to perform all aspects of Setup and/or operation of various CNC machining equipment.

Available shifts:

  • 2nd shift Monday through Thursday 4pm to 2am
  • 4th shift Friday through Sunday 6am to 6pm
  • 5th shift Friday through Sunday 6pm to 6am

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Setup and operate CNC machining equipment (Mazak Lathe, Swiss Turning, and Makino Milling machine)
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately set up and operate CNC machining equipment
  • Work with team to trouble shoot setup, operation, and/or flow issues
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Communicate clearly in English (both verbal and written)
  • Meet documented and communicated standards for quality and productivity
  • Keep records of production quantities and time
  • Work safely with small hand tools, and measuring equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of related work experience preferable
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
  • Ability to work overtime
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Plus:

  • Experience with Mazatrol (matrix and/or smooth)
  • Experience with CMMs
  • Understanding of geometric tolerancing

Physical demands and abilities:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Standing for 10 to 12 hrs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
